By downloading or using Qlens, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and do not use our services.
Short version: Qlens is designed to be privacy-first. We do not sell your personal data. We do not read the content of your scans on our servers. Most data stays on your device.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you:
- Create a Qlens Pro account (name, email address)
- Contact us through this website (name, email, message)
- Submit feedback or bug reports
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use Qlens, we may automatically collect:
- Device information — device model, operating system version, app version
- Crash reports — anonymised crash logs to help us fix bugs (no personal data)
- Usage analytics — anonymised feature usage (e.g., how many times the scanner was opened) to improve the app. No scan content is ever included.
2.3 Camera Permission
Qlens requires camera access to scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. We do not store, upload, or analyse images from your camera.
2.4 Scan History (On-Device Only)
Your scan history is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud sync (a Pro feature). You can clear your history at any time from within the App.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and improve the Qlens application
- Respond to your support requests and enquiries
- Fix bugs and improve stability through crash reporting
- Process payments and manage Pro subscriptions
- Comply with legal obligations
- Send transactional emails (e.g., purchase receipts, account notices)
We do not use your data for targeted advertising or sell it to third parties.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers — trusted third-party vendors (e.g., payment processors, crash analytics) who assist in operating our service. They are contractually bound to protect your data.
- Legal requirements — if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
- Business transfer — if Kaana Labs is acquired or merges with another company, your data may be transferred. We will notify you beforehand.

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the service:
- Account data — retained while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of account deletion
- Contact form submissions — retained for up to 12 months
- Crash reports — anonymised and retained for up to 6 months
- On-device scan history — controlled entirely by you; deleted when you clear history or uninstall
6. Children's Privacy
Qlens is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@kaanalabs.me and we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive data, and access controls limiting who can access personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Third-Party Services
Qlens may integrate with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Play Services — in-app billing and analytics (Google Privacy Policy)
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting (anonymised)
- Google AdMob — advertising in the free version (see your device Ad settings to opt out)

- Correction — request we correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — request we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
